Today was the best day ever. Today I was learning about area. I learned four quarters equals one hole. I also learned one half and to quarters equals one hole. We found out 99 cups fill up the top of a desk. We also found out 16 flash cards fill up a desk top.

Today in Ms.Kirchners class I learned how to do area.Area is somthing that you get a paper and see it has sq.cm you have to figure out what the area is.

Oh, what a feeling!

Today students used non standard units of measurement to find the area of their desktops. It was so much fun! Students were "busy bees" looking around the room for a unit of measurement that would work and follow the rules of area measurement. I would say more, but I think I will let the students share their thoughts on the activities. :)
